Melanie D. Davis, APR Executive Director
As executive director, Melanie serves as the backbone – and ambassador for – the Club and is responsible for the Club’s operations and maintaining and enhancing its century-plus legacy of excellence. Melanie also serves as executive director for the Adcraft Foundation, which includes all Adcraft scholarship programs and the Michigan Advertising Industry Alliance, Adcraft’s sister advocacy group for the ad industry.
In her role, Melanie helps to develop the organizations’ strategic plan and program of work, including developing products, programs and services that meet member needs. She also works to enhance Adcraft’s brand in the community, encourage membership growth and develop print and digital publications that help Adcraft meet its overarching goals.

Bookkeeper/Community Partnership Manager
LaVar Harris is a bookkeeper and community partnership manager for the Adcraft Club of Detroit. He is responsible for the financial policies and procedures as well as all of the bookkeeping activities for the Club and its affiliated non-profit associations. Harris is deeply embedded in the community. He has volunteered and served in various leadership roles for the Michigan Junior Chamber (Jaycees) since 2005 and is their current presidential assistant.
As a community partnership manager, Harris serves to connect Adcraft and various community partners for monthly updates to the Community Clearinghouse Calendar and communitywide events. Harris manages Adcraft’s many partnership events including Summer in the D and Holiday in the D. Harris also administrates various functions for Direct Marketing Association of Detroit from accounting procedures to website and social media maintenance.
Prior to working at the Adcraft Club of Detroit, Harris worked as a financial analyst at the Detroit Regional Chamber and served in the United States Air Force as an electrical and environmental specialist. After his service he attended Eastern Michigan University and Wayne County Community College to further his education.
Through his experiences with the United States Air Force, Detroit Regional Chamber and the Jaycees, Harris enhances the Adcraft Club of Detroit with his expertise in accounting, event coordination, leadership and management skills.
