Continuing our tradition of kicking off a new Adcraft meeting season with Ford Day, Adcrafters will enjoy a live performance by FOX-TV’s “American Idol” season 14 champion Nick Fradiani and first runner-up Clark Beckham on Friday, Oct. 16. Fradiani and Beckham will treat Adcrafters to an exciting, intimate performance at the Ford Conference & Event Center in Dearborn following a buffet lunch in the lobby.
Nick Fradiani, a 29 year old hailing from Guilford, Connecticut, rose to regional attention as the lead singer of pop/rock band Beach Avenue when they won Battle of the Bands at Mohegan Sun in 2011. The band gained national recognition in 2014 when they competed on the ninth season of America’s Got Talent, making it all the way to Judgment Week.
It’s no surprise that former computer software salesman Nick ended up becoming the first American Idol from the Northeast region. He grew up surrounded by music, and his musician father gave him a drum set when he was just two years old and taught him to play, followed by teaching him piano and guitar.
23-year-old Clark Beckham was this season’s runner up. Growing up in White House, Tennessee, Clark got most of his musical experience playing in church and on street corners.
Before auditioning for Idol, he worked as a street musician and graduated from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee with a degree in history. He originally wanted to audition for Idol when it came to Nashville when he was 18, but he said, “it was not in line with God’s will at the time.”
